And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord {said} unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
Now when they heard {this}, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men {and} brethren, what shall we do?
Go thou near, and hear all that the LORD our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the LORD our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear {it}, and do {it}.
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, {or} with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn {for} my transgression, the fruit of my body {for} the sin of my soul? {body: Heb. belly}
That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do.
For ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto the LORD your God, saying, Pray for us unto the LORD our God; and according unto all that the LORD our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do {it}. {ye dissembled...: or, ye have used deceit against your souls}
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. {Labour not: or, Work not}
And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
He that regardeth the day, regardeth {it} unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard {it}. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. {regardeth: or, observeth}
