Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who {is} a chosen {man, that} I may appoint over her? for who {is} like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who {is} that shepherd that will stand before me? {appoint me...: or, convent me in judgment?}

If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and {if} in the land of peace, {wherein} thou trustedst, {they wearied thee}, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?
And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who {is} this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.
None {is so} fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

Who {is} like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who {is} like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful {in} praises, doing wonders? {gods: or, mighty ones?}
If {I speak} of strength, lo, {he is} strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time {to plead}?
For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? {who} among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
Who {is} like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, {dwelleth...: Heb. exalteth himself to dwell}
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Who {is} he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
These {are} they that went over Jordan in the first month, when it had overflown all his banks; and they put to flight all {them} of the valleys, {both} toward the east, and toward the west. {overflown: Heb. filled over}
Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. {abide: Heb. stand up}
Oh that I knew where I might find him! {that} I might come {even} to his seat!
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct {him}? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
O LORD God of hosts, who {is} a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
{Though} I {were} perfect, {yet} would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
Thou, {even} thou, {art} to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry?
The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; {and} thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
{There is} a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?
He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger. {desolate: Heb. a desolation}
And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.
Israel {is} a scattered sheep; the lions have driven {him} away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

For {he is} not a man, as I {am, that} I should answer him, {and} we should come together in judgment.
I saw in the night visions, and, behold, {one} like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
