And the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears {are} on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort {her}: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
Therefore, O Aholibah, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will raise up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every side;
The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because {they are} many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
And {when} thou {art} spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; {thy} lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. {face: Heb. eyes}
Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, {unto} mount Nebo, which {is} in the land of Moab, that {is} over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
