Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, {It is} truth.
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? {It is} God that justifieth.
Let my prayer be set forth before thee {as} incense; {and} the lifting up of my hands {as} the evening sacrifice. {set...: Heb. directed}
Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
Keep silence before me, O islands; and let the people renew {their} strength: let them come near; then let them speak: let us come near together to judgment.
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man {pleadeth} for his neighbour! {neighbour: or, friend}
And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.
Oh that I knew where I might find him! {that} I might come {even} to his seat!
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet {for} this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do {it} for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: {that...: or, as being righteous}
But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
Behold now, I have ordered {my} cause; I know that I shall be justified.

Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, {which} shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, {make...: or, are the LORD's remembrancers}
