They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.

And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the passage of Michmash. {garrison: or, standing camp}
And his return {was} to Ramah; for there {was} his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.
And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs, {Geba: also called, Gaba}
Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, {and} bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they {were} not.
Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.
And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, {there was} a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock on the other side: and the name of the one {was} Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, {are} they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, {and} the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud {at} Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.
And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people {that were} present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmash. {present: Heb. found} {Gibeah: Heb. Geba}
Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood: the battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity did not overtake them.
And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:
And his master said unto him, We will not turn aside hither into the city of a stranger, that {is} not of the children of Israel; we will pass over to Gibeah.
They have deeply corrupted {themselves}, as in the days of Gibeah: {therefore} he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
Saul chose him three thousand {men} of Israel; {whereof} two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.
Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, {and} the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud {at} Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.
And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which {is} Jerusalem, Gibeath, {and} Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This {is} the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
And he said unto his servant, Come, and let us draw near to one of these places to lodge all night, in Gibeah, or in Ramah.
And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, {and} were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite of the people, {and} kill, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to the house of God, and the other to Gibeah in the field, about thirty men of Israel. {to smite...: Heb. to smite of the people wounded as at, etc} {the house...: or, Bethel}
And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that {was} in Geba, and the Philistines heard {of it}. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear. {Geba: or, the hill}
And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba to Beersheba, and brake down the high places of the gates that {were} in the entering in of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, which {were} on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.
Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: he hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth no man.
And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where {is} the fury of the oppressor? {were...: or, made himself ready}

All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and {from} the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. {turned: or, compassed} {inhabited: or, shall abide}
