O Lord, to us {belongeth} confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
In thy filthiness {is} lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.
O LORD, {are} not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, {but} they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Turn ye unto {him from} whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love {to have it} so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? {bear...: or, take into their hands}

In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
And they bend their tongues {like} their bow {for} lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.
Neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, wherewith thou didst testify against them.
I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, {and} the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, {and} burst the bonds.
For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
Thy princes {are} rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.
Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: {and} they together {shall be} against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand {is} stretched out still.
And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this {is that} king Ahaz.
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. {wounds: Heb. griefs}
Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, {yet} will not his foolishness depart from him.
And went to {him}, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
For this our heart is faint; for these {things} our eyes are dim.

My wounds stink {and} are corrupt because of my foolishness.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I {have been} a rebuker of them all. {though: or, and} {a rebuker: Heb. a correction}
And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, {and} idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves. {they sin...: Heb. they add to sin} {the men...: or, the sacrificers of men}
I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured {them}: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. {when...: or, the multitude of your gardens, etc. did the palmerworm}
For her wound {is} incurable; for it is come unto Judah; he is come unto the gate of my people, {even} to Jerusalem. {her...: or, she is grievously sick of her wounds}
Therefore also will I make {thee} sick in smiting thee, in making {thee} desolate because of thy sins.
She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. {correction: or, instruction}
And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. {scorched: or, burned}
But if the scab spread much abroad in the skin, after that he hath been seen of the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen of the priest again:
If a man or woman have a plague upon the head or the beard;
He is a leprous man, he {is} unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague {is} in his head.
Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, {and by} all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments {and} my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets. {by: Heb. by the hand of}
By the great force {of my disease} is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.
{There is} no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither {is there any} rest in my bones because of my sin. {rest: Heb. peace, or, health}
Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying, {Moreover...: Heb. And the LORD added to speak}
In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, {namely}, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.
In measure, when it shooteth forth, thou wilt debate with it: he stayeth his rough wind in the day of the east wind. {it shooteth...: or, thou sendest it forth} {he...: or, when he removeth it with}

She hath wearied {herself} with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum {shall be} in the fire.
I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people {that} doth not understand shall fall. {I will not: or, Shall I not} {fall: or, be punished}
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and {upon} them which worshipped his image.
And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
{Is there} no balm in Gilead; {is there} no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? {recovered: Heb. gone up?}
