Wine {is} a mocker, strong drink {is} raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and {so} that day come upon you unawares.
But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble {in} judgment.
For a whore {is} a deep ditch; and a strange woman {is} a narrow pit.
And that, knowing the time, that now {it is} high time to awake out of sleep: for now {is} our salvation nearer than when we believed.
And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands.
