Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
This {is} the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to {execute} wrath upon him that doeth evil.

And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain.

And Jonathan spake good of David unto Saul his father, and said unto him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works {have been} to thee-ward very good:

Wherefore they cried unto the LORD, and said, We beseech thee, O LORD, we beseech thee, let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O LORD, hast done as it pleased thee.
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. {punished: Heb. avenged}
And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace.
