And thy mighty {men}, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz. {Zepho: or, Zephi}
Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out: surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.
Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; {Is} wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,
And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.
And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. {Teman: or, the south}
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword. {they...: or, they shall fall by the sword unto Dedan}
And these {are} the sons of Aholibamah Esau's wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these {were} the dukes {that came} of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. {a green...: or, a green tree that groweth in his own soil}
But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
