And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face,
And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood {at} the door of the tabernacle, and {the LORD} talked with Moses.
And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. {Peniel: that is, The face of God}
The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, {There is} a noise of war in the camp.
I {am} the LORD: that {is} my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man {pleadeth} for his neighbour! {neighbour: or, friend}
And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. {Joshua: called Jesus}
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
{But} Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood {at} the door of the tabernacle, and {the LORD} talked with Moses.
And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, {one} of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.
