This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations {that are} under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.
And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that {were} round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
But the LORD thy God shall deliver them unto thee, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. {unto...: Heb. before thy face}
There shall no man be able to stand before you: {for} the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.
The people shall hear, {and} be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.
For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, {even} the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the LORD came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.
Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
And there was trembling in the host, in the field, and among all the people: the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled, and the earth quaked: so it was a very great trembling. {a very...: Heb. a trembling of God}
And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. {faint: Heb. melt}
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he {it is} that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.

In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:

And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.

For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year.
And, behold, this day I {am} going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, {and} not one thing hath failed thereof.
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of {those} countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God {is} among you, and {that} he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou {art}, to bring thee in, to give thee their land {for} an inheritance, as {it is} this day.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be {as} still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, {which} thou hast purchased.
Put them in fear, O LORD: {that} the nations may know themselves {to be but} men. Selah.
Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.
The Jews gathered themselves together in their cities throughout all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to lay hand on such as sought their hurt: and no man could withstand them; for the fear of them fell upon all people.
