An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, {even} unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired {it} for his habitation.
But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD: {your choice...: Heb. the choice of your vows}
And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that {is} within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that {are} among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put {it} in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there.
So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam {was} one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother's name {was} Naamah an Ammonitess.
And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter {and} to destroy this house of God which {is} at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.
The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, {even} toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place. {toward this place: or, in this place}
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as {do} thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name. {this...: Heb. thy name is called upon this house}
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.

And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that {pertaineth} unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name {shall be} great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense {shall be} offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name {shall be} great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.

If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.
But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, {even} unto the end of the world. Amen.
The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion.
And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And if his oblation {be} a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer {it} of the herd; whether {it be} a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.
And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

As Moses the servant of the LORD commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the book of the law of Moses, an altar of whole stones, over which no man hath lift up {any} iron: and they offered thereon burnt offerings unto the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings.
If, {when} evil cometh upon us, {as} the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name {is} in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as {it is} written in the law of Moses the man of God. {Jeshua: also called, Joshua} {Zerubbabel: Gr. And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
Then Joshua built an altar unto the LORD God of Israel in mount Ebal,
And it came to pass on the morrow, that the people rose early, and built there an altar, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.
And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Bethshemite, and stood there, where {there was} a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD.

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name.
And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, {that is}, to Kirjathjearim, which {belonged} to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth {between} the cherubims, whose name is called {on it}.

And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which {are} upon the ark of the testimony, of all {things} which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
And thou shalt make an altar {of} shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof {shall be} three cubits.

And Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven oxen and seven rams.

A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; {upon...: Heb. upon bricks}
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense. {break: Heb. breathe}
Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
