And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, {even} all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that {was} in the camp trembled.

And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness {was} under his feet.
A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
