I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away {ought} thereof for {any} unclean {use}, nor given {ought} thereof for the dead: {but} I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, {and} have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.

But the soul that eateth {of} the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that {pertain} unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
They shall not offer wine {offerings} to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices {shall be} unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:
Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;
They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not {thy} lips, and eat not the bread of men. {Forbear: Heb. Be silent} {lips: Heb. upper lip}
And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth {it} with good will at your hand.
And thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that {is} within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that {are} among you, in the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to place his name there.
They shall not offer wine {offerings} to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices {shall be} unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.
Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:
Neither shall {men} tear {themselves} for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall {men} give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother. {tear...: or, break bread for them}
And Aaron said unto Moses, Behold, this day have they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before the LORD; and such things have befallen me: and {if} I had eaten the sin offering to day, should it have been accepted in the sight of the LORD?
And Nehemiah, which {is} the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day {is} holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. {the Tirshatha: or, the governor}
