Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know {these things} before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. {assure: Gr. persuade}
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. {sure: or, steady}
Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD {shall be} a light unto me.
Blessed {are} they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
He only {is} my rock and my salvation; {he is} my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. {defence: Heb. high place}
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to {his} purpose.
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
{He that} putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these {things} shall never be moved.
Which {hope} we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in {his} talk.
But without faith {it is} impossible to please {him}: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and {that} he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. {unbelief: or, disobedience}
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, {even} as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Therefore {it is} of faith, that {it might be} by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
