Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
We see not our signs: {there is} no more any prophet: neither {is there} among us any that knoweth how long.
And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.
And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house. And the child did minister unto the LORD before Eli the priest.
But Samuel ministered before the LORD, {being} a child, girded with a linen ephod.
And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her husband, {I will not go up} until the child be weaned, and {then} I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD, and there abide for ever.
