But Pharaoh's daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which {Solomon} had built for her: then did he build Millo.
And this {is} the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same {is} the city of David.
Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
But it came to pass, {that} when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, {and} that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, {were made up: Heb. ascended}
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: {close: Heb. hedge, or, wall}

The matter {is} not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, {even} against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many: and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla. {the house...: or, Bethmillo}

Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised {it} up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo {in} the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance. {darts: or, swords, or, weapons}
Let the priests take {it} to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.
