And David sent and enquired after the woman. And {one} said, {Is} not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? {Bathsheba: or, Bathshuah} {Eliam: or Ammiel}
And David comforted Bathsheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her: and she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the LORD loved him.
Which was {the son} of Melea, which was {the son} of Menan, which was {the son} of Mattatha, which was {the son} of Nathan, which was {the son} of David,
That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.
Now these {are} the names of {his} children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her {that had been the wife} of Urias;
And these {be} the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.

And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother, And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he {is} mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.
