Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and the frankincense.

And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled {the blood} from their hands, and the Levites flayed {them}.

And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; {it shall} not {be} a burden upon {your} shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,

Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared {them}, {chambers: or, storehouses}

And {certain} of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale. {bring...: Heb. bring them in by tale, and carry them out by tale}

Of which, twenty and four thousand {were} to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand {were} officers and judges: {set...: or, oversee}

And {there were} narrow windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch, and {upon} the side chambers of the house, and thick planks.

Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the vessels thereof.

And before this, Eliashib the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, {was} allied unto Tobiah: {having...: Heb. being set over}

Over against the twenty {cubits} which {were} for the inner court, and over against the pavement which {was} for the utter court, {was} gallery against gallery in three {stories}.

And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabeel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, {was} at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people. {Zerah: also called, Zarah}

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada {was} over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David {were} chief about the king. {about...: Heb. at the hand of the king}

Then said he unto me, The north chambers {and} the south chambers, which {are} before the separate place, they {be} holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place {is} holy.

And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy {place}.

And the side chambers {were} three, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which {was} of the house for the side chambers round about, that they might have hold, but they had not hold in the wall of the house. {one...: Heb. side chamber over side chamber} {thirty...: or, three and thirty times, or, foot} {have hold: Heb. be holden}

Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD.

Watch ye, and keep {them}, until ye weigh {them} before the chief of the priests and the Levites, and chief of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the LORD.

And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which {was} by the chamber of the princes, which {was} above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door: {door: Heb. threshold, or, vessel}

Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.

And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD. {by the words...: or, in the business of the LORD}

But I will make them keepers of the charge of the house, for all the service thereof, and for all that shall be done therein.

But let none come into the house of the LORD, save the priests, and they that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they {are} holy: but all the people shall keep the watch of the LORD.

Then brought he me into the outward court, and, lo, {there were} chambers, and a pavement made for the court round about: thirty chambers {were} upon the pavement.

And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, {it shall be} unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the LORD by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as {it is} written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, {as it was ordained} by David. {as it was...: Heb. by the hands of David}

And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle.

And I have given the Levites {as} a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary. {a gift: Heb. given}

And I said unto them, Ye {are} holy unto the LORD; the vessels {are} holy also; and the silver and the gold {are} a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.

And at that time were some appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions of the law for the priests and Levites: for Judah rejoiced for the priests and for the Levites that waited. {of the law: that is, appointed by the law} {for Judah...: Heb. for the joy of Judah} {waited: Heb. stood}

And both the singers and the porters kept the ward of their God, and the ward of the purification, according to the commandment of David, {and} of Solomon his son.

Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

And {every} little chamber {was} one reed long, and one reed broad; and between the little chambers {were} five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate within {was} one reed.

And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the LORD.
